Summer Bazaar 2014

PWYLLGOR DARLLENFA  LLANSADWRN READING ROOM COMMITTEE

A really good turnout of village residents and friends attended the Summer Bazaar on Saturday 28th June, in aid of Reading Room Funds. Threatening cloud provided just the right amount of rain at 1.00pm for the display of plants set up outside (which saved watering from a can!).

Timely support from the ‘Sexton Arms’ landlord Cliff Cowell with a well placed ‘gazebo porch’ ensured customers entered dry.

What a surprise greeted them with cheerful Committee Members manning over-laden tables of cakes, garden produce, books and heaven knows what on the Bric-a-Brac stall!

Three hours of happy trading, including some fun elements for the young (and the not-so-young) boosted The Llansadwrn Reading Room fund by a total of £605.

The Committee could not have raised so much money without the support and generosity of a number of local businesses, to which they offer their grateful thanks. Those who donated Raffle Prizes are as follows.

‘The Sexton Arms’ and Cliff Cowell.

‘The Gym at Llandeilo’ and Richard.

‘Ystrad Garden Centre‘, Nr. Llandovery.

‘Baileys Butchers’ of  Llangadog and Les Bailey.

‘Llangadog Post Office’ and Richard Morgan.

‘Baileys’ Shop – and Alan Bailey.

‘The Old Post Office’ in Llanwrda and Laura Lloyd

Cool Bag – donated by Jenny Rowlands.

Mention and gratitude must also be offered to all the Reading Room Committee and members of the public who provided so much of what was on offer.
