A Garden for Everyone
Llansadwrn Community Garden / Gardd Gymunedol Llansadwrn was formed in November 2018. Whilst we can sometimes take for granted that we are surrounded by green space a large number of people within the community felt there was a need for some outdoor community space that benefits everyone.
The old garden which was once on the community field has been proposed as a site.
The project’s long-term aim – was for it to be a permanent feature to bring the community together, providing broad opportunities for relaxation, gardening, exercise, and education that hopefully would be of benefit to any and everyone in the village.
It is envisaged as initially being a simple, low maintenance area, with a clearly defined boundary, shed and shelter, benches, bulbs to naturalise under 3 or 4 trees (possibly local fruit varieties), some habitat piles, and possibly a pond.
Further ideas will develop eg willow sculptures, raised beds, planters around the village, bat box making, bird box making, bilingual wildlife walks, a place for local children and adults to learn together.
