CYNGOR CYMUNED LLANSADWRN COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held via MS Teams at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday 2nd March, 2022.

Present:

Chairman: Councillor C. Powell

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

1. Apologies

Minutes were accepted as correct.

4. Matters arising from the minutes:

4.2 Llansadwrn Reading Room

No meetings had been held during the last month.

Brownhill Junction

Nothing to Report

8 (1) Llansadwrn Play Area

Mr Michael Robers, Environment Department Carmarthenshire County Council has been in contact with the Enforcement team that can conduct patrols in the area to highlight the issues of dog fouling in the area, he is sure that they have ‘No Dog Fouling’ Penalty signs that can be placed in the hotspot areas.

8 (iii) Web Site

Unfortunately, Lyndsey Maiden was unwell and unable to attend the meeting, but would attend the April meeting with an update.

8 (2) Highway Issues

A tree had fallen in the hedge on the road between Waun Clyn Da and Carmel making the road very narrow and difficult for traffic to pass.

8 (a) Gardd Gymunedol Llansadwrn Community Garden

A meeting would be held soon which would include the Annual General Meeting.  New members were required for the Committee.  The bottom hedge and the hedge by the old Vicarage had been cut.

8 (d) Light for the Community Field

The Clerk had emailed the incorrect month to Mr Arwel Price, the site meeting would be held on Wednesday 9th March and Councillor Liza Jones had agreed to attend the site meeting.

Community Field furniture

This to be discussed at the meeting in May.

8 (e) Red telephone kiosk

This to be discussed at the next face to face meeting.

(a) Report from County Councillor

Absent from the meeting.

(b) Report from Cornwallis Liaison

No meetings had been held recently.  Re-marked out the flood plan for the area and it is up as far as the Village Hall.  Social Housing might have an interest in Cornwallis.

7. Payments

No invoices to pay.

Donations

All donations for national charities to be discussed at the next meeting.

(a) Signing quarterly income and expenditure report/bank statements

To be discussed at the September meeting.

The Clerk reminded everyone that the Nominations Papers would be available on line to download.
