Vegetables for the Llansadwrn Show

Get out your veg, show off your pooch, share your skills

We know we have a talented village and nothing shows it off better than the annual village show on the 16th this year.

2018 promises to be a particularly fun one with rumours of a vintage tractor display which should keep young and old entertained.

For a full show programme you can go to the Llansadwrn show website where you can also see last years winners.

Big Lunch 2018

Out enjoying the sunshine at Llansadwrn Big Lunch 2018

The rolling hills of Carmarthenshire were filled with the songs of Turkey, South Africa, Norway and Wales.

Yet another phenomenal big lunch was organised by the village of Llansadwrn, overlooking the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park the Maes rang with shreaks of children laughing and the chatting many old friends meeting up and enjoying local talent, food and drinks together.

This lovely community seems able to host whole range of talents, from the singing of the Llansadwrn singers, the hearty tug-of-war teams (stop that “helping” Hugh and Elgan), the amazing cooking skills of everyone in the village, as well as the artistic abilities of the people who decorated the marquee.

The Big Lunch focuses on bringing communities together to share time and food and Llansadwrn certainly embraced that notion.

Turning on the Christmas Lights

Llansadwrn Christmas lights

The turning on the lights at Llansadwrn reading room this Christmas was a delight for all of us who attended.

The Christmas tree lights provided a sense of tension as only half turned on initially, but then thankfully the whole tree was ablaze to the cheers of all who were there.

We were treated to the delightful Llandeilo Town Band, who played us many beautiful carols and we joined in with great gusto.

Llandeilo Town Band are happy to come and play at your village event they just ask to be able to take donations to buy instruments for the band. They are a fantastic bunch who really deserve our support.

Thanks to all at the reading room who put so much work into last night’s event, we all enjoyed the mulled cider, mince pies and the general good feeling of having an evening with friends and neighbours.
