Minutes of the meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held at the Reading Room, Llansadwrn on Wednesday 9th June, 2021

Present:

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting. Councillor L. Rowlands was thanked for all his work in order to ensure that the Reading Room was safe to hold a face to face meeting.

1. Apologies
Councillor C. Hudson, Councillor T. Evans (Councillor T. Evans had tendered her resignation, the Community Council discussed and agreed that the Clerk would contact Trish and ask her to reconsider her decision).

2. Minutes of the previous meeting and matters that were not included on the Agenda
Minutes were accepted as correct.

3. Declaration of Interest

4. Matters arising from the minutes:

4.2 Llansadwrn Reading Room
The Reading Room was now available for meetings, events, etc. A risk assessment would be carried out for every event, sanitisation facilities, social distancing, no more than 10 people meeting at one time, etc.

8 (c) Speed Restrictions
Nothing to report.

Brownhill Junction
Nothing to report.

8 (1) Llansadwrn Play Area
Dog Fouling was continuing to be an issue. It was discussed and agreed that the children from the village could possibly design posters, which could then be laminated and placed in the Play Area. The Play Area was about to be inspected by Carmarthenshire County Council, it would then need to be inspected on a monthly basis. Councillor C. Eady agreed to carry out the inspections.

8 (iii) Web Site
A request had been received from Llanwrda Community Council enquiring if the Community Council would consider having a joint web site. This was discussed and agreed that Llansadwrn web site would remain as a Community web site for the village.

8 (ii) Highway Issues
Pot holes were continuing to be an ongoing problem, also holes/ditches alongside the road where the road is coming away from the hedges. The Clerk to contact Carmarthenshire County Council, although there was no budget available for money to be spent on rural roads.

8 (a) Gardd Gymunedol Llansadwrn Community Garden
Nothing further to report. The Clerk had written to Llys Cennen, Solicitors, for an update regarding the lease.

8 (d) Light for Community Field
No further updates from Carmarthenshire County Council, it was agreed that the light should be in place before the winter.

Newly installed LED lights
A site meeting to be held at the start of the Autumn.

Forms to be sent to Natwest with the Carmarthen Branch being convenient for the chairman to attend with signature.

8. Any other business

(a) Pre-planning Application
A planning application was going to be submitted in July from Llwyn Pur and the applicant was asking for a letter of support from the Community Council. It was discussed and agreed to comment on the receipt of the official Planning Consultation.

The next meeting to be held on Wednesday 7th July, 2021.
