Minutes of the meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held via MS Teams at 6.00 p.m. on Monday 1st September, 2025

Councillor J. Evans had attended the meeting at the Reading Room but unfortunately the venue had been changed to MS Teams as the Clerk had issues with transport.

Minutes were accepted as correct.

4. Matters arising from the minutes:
4.2 Llansadwrn Reading Room
No updates to report. A suggestion was made that we enquire regarding WiFi in the Reading Room.
8. Brownhill Junction
The Clerk had reported the re-positioning of the sign Llansadwrn to SWTRA and they had sent the information to their maintenance contractors. It was mentioned that the sign had been moved, Councillor H. Evans agreed to visit the junction to check the position of the sign. No reply from the forestry regarding a site meeting.
8 (1) Llansadwrn Play Area
No issues to report.
8 (iii) Web Site
Nothing to report.
8 (2) Highway Issues
Pot holes continued to be an issue. The Clerk to report the damage by Myrtle Hill as the road was in a very bad state and was in need of repairs. County Councillor A. Davies was asked to enquire regarding the hedge at Waungelli, who was responsible for its upkeep. The hedges had been cut and improved visibility.

No correspondence or updates received.
8 (6) Co-option
No further interest shown.
8 (7) Grass cutting contract
This was discussed, enquiries to be made as to what exactly needs to be cut in the village, e.g. Community field hedge, road leading to the church, etc.
8 (8) Community Garden
The future of the Community Garden was briefly discussed.

(a) Report from County Councillor

Bryncadwgan – 15 wind turbines, Waunmaenllwyd (Galileo) 19 Wind Turbines. County Councillor had attended various meetings in the area, the next would 15th September at Llanddewi Brefi. Possibly the layby in Llanwrda would be used as a “blade station” which would have a massive impact on the village of Llansadwrn and Llanwrda. There were plans for 80 Wind Turbines in total.

Absent from the meeting.
7. Finance
(a) Payments
Clerks’/HMRC/NIC wages would be due in October.
(b) Donations
No requests received.
(a) Signing quarterly income and expenditure reports/bank statements
Due in October, would be prepared in November on receipt of bank statements.
(b) Budgets – 2024/2025
The budgets and precept would be discussed at the November meeting.
IRP payments (community councillor expenses)
Community Councillors were allowed to claim expenses, the Clerk to forward details to each member. A form would be included in order to sign whether to accept/decline.
