Minutes of the meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held at the Reading Room Llansadwrn on Monday 12thMay, 2025, following the Annual General Meeting

4.2       Llansadwrn Reading Room

A meeting had not been held recently, Councillor L. Rowlands confirmed that he would continue to monitor for the Balance Sheet.  The paperwork had been received from Carmarthenshire County Council confirming that there were no Rates to pay.

  1. Brownhill Junction

The Clerk had written regarding a site meeting, but no reply received to date.

8 (1)    Llansadwrn Play Area

Councillor L. Rowlands confirmed that he had inspected the Play Area following the Annual Inspection from Carmarthenshire County Council.  The area round the gate was overgrown and he cleared the area. The footpath between the Play Area and the Houses was overgrown, the Clerk to enquire with the PROW office as to the ownership of the Footpath.

8 (iii)   Web Site

No further updates regarding Adverts for the web site.

8 (2)    Highway Issues

Pot holes continue to be a major issue.  The hedgerow by Werngelli was overgrown.

Red Telephone Kiosk

It was agreed to remove this from the Agenda.

8 (5)    Green GEN Cymru

A meeting had been held in Llandovery the previous evening.   Solicitors were working with the issue regarding access on to owner’s land, no access would be required for the pre-planning stage.  A few cases had gone before Llanelli Magistrates.  Funds were required for this ongoing issue.  Drones were being used with surveying.  The issue was having good media coverage, the longer the delay the better.

8 (6)    Co-option of Members

Councillor L. Rowlanda agreed to  place a note on Facebook.

7 (b)    ‘D’ Day event 8th May

No event organised.

Date and venue of future meetings

The Clerk left the meeting while this was discussed.   Following a discussion the Clerk was informed that meetings would now be held on a 2 monthly basis.  At the Reading Room, Llansadwrn in July and September, on MSTeams from November to May 2025.
