CYNGOR CYMUNED LLANSADWRN COMMUNITY COUNCIL  

Minutes of the meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held via MS Teams on Wednesday 5th March, 2025.  The Clerk to send a link at 6.50 p.m. 

The vice-Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.  The Chairman had had an accident and gave his apologies.  It was agreed that the Clerk arrange to send a Get Well card.

4.2 Llansadwrn Reading Room 

Nothing to report, no further meetings held.  Councillor L. Rowlands had spoken to the treasurer regarding the Balance Sheet for 2023/2024 

 

  1. Brownhill Junction

No further updates. 

 

8 (1) Llansadwrn Play Area 

Councillor L. Rowlands confirmed that he had inspected the play area. 

 

8 (iii) Web site 

The Clerk to prepare a list of companies/organisations from Post Datum and forward a copy to everyone. 

 

8 (2) Highway Issues 

Pot holes continued to be a major problem in Llansadwrn, the Clerk was asked to contact Carmarthenshire County Council requesting that the “Hot Box” visit the area.  Roads around Myrtle Hill and Waun Clyn Da were dangerous. 

 

Red Telephone Kiosk 

Work to be carried out in the Spring. 

 

8 (5) Green GEN Cymru 

A letter had been sent and a reply had been received stating that there was another consultation.  The County Councillor was going to attend a meeting at Llanllwni Church Hall. 

 

6 (a) Assisted Lifts 

A detailed letter had been received giving all the information that had been requested.  This could now be removed from the Agenda.

(b) Donation requests 

A request had been received from the Armed Forces Charity.  It was discussed that a ‘D’ day event would be organised in May with proceeds given to the Armed Forces Charity.

(b) Budgets 2025/2026 

To be updated later in the financial year.

(a) AMCO-GIFFEN (Network Rail) were offering community support to the villages, no financial only community. 

Councillor H. Evans had met with a representative and possibilities were discussed, e.g. extend the hard core on the entrance to the Community Field, work on the pavilion on the Community Field. 

Councillor L. Rowlands had also met with a representative, the work involved with Cornwallis, Llansadwrn Reading Room, etc.
