Minutes of the MS Teams meeting of Llansadwrn Community Council held on Wednesday 3rd February, 2021

2. Minutes of the previous meeting and matters arising that were not included on the agenda
Minutes were accepted as correct on correction of the following:
Llansadwrn Reading Room – Councillor T. Evans had been asked to be Chairman but was not the Chair at this point in time.

4. Matters arising from the minutes:
4.2 Llansadwrn Reading Room
The defibrillator was being put in place this Saturday. Once meeting restrictions were removed, defibrillator training and possibly first aid classes would be arranged.
8 (c) Speed Restrictions
Nothing to report.
Brownhill Junction
Nothing to report.
Llansadwrn Play Area
The problem with the rats was ongoing but it was being dealt with. Carmarthenshire County Council had been informed.
Web Site
Nothing to report.
Defibrillator
Hopefully this would be installed at the week-end.
8 (2) Highway Issues
The Roman Road between Llansadwrn and Llanwrda was in a very dangerous state due to the bad weather. This road is the main access for some farmers but at the moment cars could drive down the road. Carmarthenshire County Council did not have the resources to carry out any work and the road would be closed until resources become available. The Clerk to enquire with Carmarthenshire County Council regarding repairing the road up to safety standards. Access will still be available to the properties at both sides and access for farm land will remain using normal agricultural vehicles. Also, if they were putting tarmac down nearby at anytime that some could be placed on the Roman Road. The Clerk was asked to enquire if it was registered as a Roman Road.
8 (a) Gardd Gymunedol Llansadwrn Community Garden
No meetings were being held at present.
8 (d) Light for the Community Field
A reply had been received from Carmarthenshire County Council stating “We have started to trial some solar LED lights on rural footpath type areas and was thinking this might of use for this location. Once we complete the initial trial, I will come back in contact with what options are available”.

6. Reports
(a) Report from County Councillor
(i) Work was commencing with cutting down trees with ash tieback disease. This would be a long operation with many issues and disputes regarding ownership of land, etc.
(b) Report from Cornwallis Liaison
The feasibility study was complete. There were several options and these would need to be discussed in order to decide the way forward with the project.
It was mentioned at this point that Councillor T. Evans had resigned as a representative of Cornwallis.
